My second Nadine West Review (style subscription service.) If you’d like to learn more, check them out here.
After I was super disappointed with my first shipment, I wasn’t really looking forward to my second package arriving. But I did fill out my feedback from the first shipment, and they really seemed to pay attention (plus, Nadine West herself left a pre-recorded message on my phone saying that she hoped I would love everything and that sometimes it took a few tries to get it right. So that made me hopeful it would be a better match.) And after reviewing everything, I can definitely say they’re getting closer!
What I received: Four pieces: a 3/4 length sleeve top, a tank top, bracelet and a necklace. I think I need to let go of the idea that this is supposed to be an outfit like some of their ads say, because there is no way these pieces make an outfit.
First up, The Beat Goes On Top, $28.99
Initial Thoughts: I wasn’t super enthused when I pulled this out. It reminded me a ton of the top from my first shipment that I promptly returned.
The Try-on: Better than I thought! It was really comfortable and looked cute with jeans. I just don’t wear a lot of black on top and couldn’t see myself wearing this very often.
The Verdict: Returned!
Next up, Summer Love Tank, $24.49
Initial Thoughts: Again, just medium enthused. I liked the color palette, but I don’t own a racerback bra, so if I kept it I’d have to buy another piece in order to be able to wear it.
The Try-on: I really liked it on ~ it paired well with a cardigan so I could wear it now. And after I took a quick review of my summer clothes I discovered I don’t really have a cute, super casual top like that to wear with jean shorts for the summer. Plus, after continuing to think about it I thought this could be a great 4th of July top. Having my 4th of July outfit handled in April makes me feel super accomplished!
The Verdict: Kept!
Final pieces, Rings of Love Necklace $21.99 & Royal Etchings Bracelet, $15.59
Initial Thoughts: If I’m going to buy jewelry, I want it to be more of a statement piece. I have a lot of more understated pieces, so neither of these were something that would really add to my wardrobe.
The Try-on: Unfortunately the items are packaged in a way that you really can’t try them on. So if I had been into them and wondering about the length of the necklace, etc., there’s really no way to find that out without tearing up the packaging.
Video review here if you’d like to see the full commentary:
Third time’s a charm? Again, I’m not out anything since I’m keeping one of the pieces, otherwise I would have to pay the $9.95 shipping. But I really like the tank and it will be a great piece for summer. I’ll definitely keep filling out my feedback to see if they can get closer to my style on upcoming pieces and be back for another Nadine West review next month.
Anyone else try Nadine West? I’d love to hear you thoughts in the comments.
