My review of my go to workout gear: the Fila workout line at Kohl’s. Fila is consistently my favorite leggings, shorts and tops and I can always find them on a great sale. This post contains affiliate links.
Like I mentioned here, I’m a Kohl’s shopping fan. Prior to this year, I just worked out at home and didn’t put too much thought into my outfits, but I started working out at a gym this year and wanted to look somewhat legit, so enter Kohl’s and their Fila line!
Now I’m not crazy about brand names just to have the name, but I like Fila because it’s super affordable and not excluded from any Kohl’s coupons (looking at you, Nike and Under Armour) and they have tons of coordinating pieces and change up their color stories often. I’ve posted the regular price, but I stack coupons with sales and typically pay around $12 for a top and $20-$25 for a bottom.
Fila Workout Look #1
Women’s Fila Sport UPF Short Sleeve V-neck Tee $25 and Women’s Fila Sport Ombre Print Capri Leggings $45
My take: I have an apple shape, so bottoms can be tricky on me – I’ve 100% done laps on the track while holding up my workout leggings like my arms were a pair of human suspenders. Not good! These leggings stayed in place the whole workout and despite both pieces being nylon, the shirt didn’t creep up during the workout at all. The rise on the leggings is pretty close to right at the belly button. You can find the tee here, and the leggings here.
Fila Workout Look #2
Women’s Fila Sport Raglan Short Sleeve Tee $25 and Women’s Fila Sport Running Shorts $30
My take: Like the top above, this one doesn’t creep up at all and it’s a good fit. The rise on the shorts is right below the belly button and they have a fabulous side hidden zipper side pocket that’s super roomy. I don’t like those tiny ID-only pockets or open pockets on workout gear because I don’t want to worry about stuff falling out. The hidden zipper laid completely flat and I don’t think you can even tell it’s there. I worked out with my locker key in there and it was perfectly comfortable. They also have an inside tie on the waist, so you can tighten them up without having any outside bumps along the waistline.
This is kinda turning into a love letter to these shorts, but they also have a built in underwear liner and I was fully prepared to tell you that that was a drawback for me, but I wore these to my last workout class and it was a lifesaver during floor work to keep me from flashing my neighbor during the class, which I think they appreciated as well :). You can find the shorts here and the top here.
Fila Workout Look #3
Women’s Fila Sport Reflective Strappy Hem Capri Leggings $40 and Women’s Fila Sport UPF Racerback Tank, $25
My take: Yay again for leggings that are a higher rise and stay put! The top is just a smidge tighter than the other tops run, but not enough that I would go up an entire size. It also stayed in place and I really liked the higher, but not crewneck, neckline. You can find the tank here, and the leggings here.
Fila Workout Look #4
Women’s Fila Sport Print Shelf Bra Racerback Tank, $35 AKA the only dud!
My take: Dang, I so wanted to love this one! It has a built-in padded shelf bra, which would be so awesome for some people, but on me that’s not enough support to go down a flight of stairs. Once I layered it with my sports bra, it just was not flattering. The look was so cute, but unfortunately, it’s going back! You can find the top here.
