One of my favorite things about summer is summer dresses! Nothing is better for my summer style than a gorgeous dress that’s cool and comfortable. Target is always my go to and they never disappoint in the dress department. Here are four great summer dress possibilities for you, all under $35. This post contains affiliate links.
Target Mossimo Women’s Zip-Up Denim Dress, $29.99
Size: I went with the XL on this one. Anything that’s really fitted up top without a ton of stretch I usually need to size up. Otherwise I knew I’d have to do a weird unzipping thing to get it to fit that’s just a weird vibe. I wanted the full zip option here.
My take: So this was perfectly comfortable in the XL at the top, but I think I traded off with it being just a tad too loose at the bottom. It really reminds me of a dress my kindergarten teacher wore all the time circa 1987, and I’m not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing. But I definitely love the zipper detail and the tie waist and the length was good! Style note: don’t wait until 4 seconds before you want to take pictures to pull something out of it’s shipping bag — or definitely invest in a steamer. Yikes. Available in sizes XS-XXL, find it here.
Target Who What Wear Women’s Sleeveless Ruffle Midi Wrap Dress, $34.99
Size: Large
My take: So I love the hemline on this and it makes me feel like I’m a super cool flamenco dancer when I am not in fact a super cool any type of dancer. The print is fabulous and it’s a nice light poplin. But if I look just a tiny bit tense, it’s because I could only stand in this one exact pose or else the button closure at the neckline would fly open. And we have neighbors. I hate layering with a tank top in the middle of summer, but it’s either that, break out the sewing kit, or constant free show. Definitely could have used a more substantial closure on this one. Available in sizes XS-XXL, find it here.
Target Who What Wear Women’s Sleeveless Lace-up Tank Dress, $32.99
Size: Large
My take: Okay, I know I just said in my last Stitch Fix Review that black is not a flattering color on me, but then another part of my brain is always like, “No! Black is classic! It is a color for everyone!” And this dress is so cute and the only other available color option was white, and that’s just too high pressure in the spills department for me. I don’t want to wear anything where I feel like I have to run from grubby hands. Because I would be doing a lot of running. The top fit really well, I loved the length and the floaty skirt made me feel super cute. I think it’s giving off just the tiniest bit of a witch vibe on me though. And now that I’ve thought that, I can’t unthink it! Not sure if this one’s making the cut. Available in sizes XS-XXL, find it here.
Target A New Day Women’s Ruffle Sleeve Shift Dress, $27.99
Size: 12
My take: Guys, I love this dress, but it is SO short. But I love it. What to do?! I think I will just have to adopt a scorched earth policy on anything that drops on the ground or get one of those grabbers they make for seniors, because I can only stand perfectly upright. I love this flutter sleeve and even though it’s a woven dress with no stretch, it’s a great fit. A bonus point for this dress: it fits exactly with my “turn on the bright” preferred color palette. Sizes 2-18, find it here.
So that’s a wrap on my under $35 dresses from Target — any other dress go-to’s you love? Tell me in the comments!
